Steven Marks is the Director of the Marriage-Relationship and Spouses/Partner Recovery Program at Front Range Counseling, an outpatient counseling service specifically for the treatment of couples, men and women recovering from the impact of sexual addiction, infidelity, and intimacy disorders.
Steven has received focused and specialized training that assists couples develop healthy and intimate relationships, and recover from the impacts of sexual addiction and infidelity. His specialty is helping all couples develop skills, tools and ways to develop deep intimacy in their relationship. Steven works with couple’s through private therapy sessions as well as conducting couple’s recovery groups. He helps couples learn healthy boundaries and communication and conflict resolution skills. He works with clients in helping them understand their emotional needs and the deeper issues and desires in a healthy relationship. Clients are empowered to take responsibility and accountability in making healthier choices in their lives and relationships
Steven has trained through Mark & Debra Laasar (SA Specialists and Author’s) and believes as they do that “the kind of help that transforms the pain around broken relationship has three critical components. Each component is like a leg of a three-legged stool. The stool represents your marriage/relationship and each leg represents one critical component of recovery…yours, mine and ours. All three legs are critical and when one leg is missing, the stool does not stand. The stool represents healthy marriage/relationship” – one developing deep intimacy in all areas of the relationship.
Steven also is specialized in working with spouse’s/partner’s of those struggling with sex addiction and intimacy disorder. He develops a strong therapeutic bond with the spouse in normalizing the emotion and pain they are experiencing. He works to assist them in grieving, processing and communicating the pain, hurt and sadness they are experiencing. Steven also assists the spouse to grow in their own health and recovery through developing healthy boundaries, having a healthy voice, self-care and developing healthy support networks. He helps the spouse/partner move forward in realizing their own self-value and worth.
Steven is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s Degree from Denver Seminary and a Business Degree from the University of Denver. Steven is PREP (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program) trained, Prepare/Enrich Certified and belongs to several professional counseling organizations such as AACC, ACA and APA. Before becoming a counselor, Steven has been a senior executive in the corporate world for over 20 years. Steven has been happily married over 27 years and has three children.
